In detail

About converting images to PDF

A PDF is often the only format a recipient can reliably open, print and file. Turning an image into one matters most when a photo has to behave like a document: a scanned form going back to an office, a receipt attached to an expense claim, a signed page emailed to a client, or a photograph that needs to print at a predictable size instead of whatever the viewer application decides.

The converter reads your image, applies the resolution you choose, and writes a single-page PDF sized to the image. Resolution is the setting that matters most. It fixes how many image pixels occupy each printed inch, so a photograph converted at 72 DPI fills more of the page but looks soft on paper, while the same photograph at 300 DPI prints crisply across a smaller area. Optimization and compression then trade file size against fidelity: high compression is right for an email attachment, lossless for anything heading to print.

Images are converted one at a time, and the result is one PDF per image. If you need several images collected into a single multi-page document, convert each one and combine the PDFs in your PDF reader.

Which image formats can I convert to PDF?

JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF, WEBP, TIF, TIFF, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF and SVG files are accepted, up to 20 MB per upload.

Is the image to PDF converter free?

Yes. Converting an image to PDF is free and does not require an account, sign-up or app download.

Which resolution should I choose?

Use 72 DPI for screen-only sharing, 150 DPI for general documents and email, and 300 DPI when the PDF will be printed.

What is the difference between optimization and compression?

Optimization sets the overall quality target for the page image, while compression controls how aggressively that image is encoded. High compression gives the smallest PDF; lossless keeps the most detail.

How long is my converted PDF kept?

Download and preview links are signed and expire 30 minutes after conversion, and uploaded and converted files are deleted from the server after 24 hours.
