In detail

About converting PDF pages to images

PDF is built for reading and printing, not for embedding. The moment a page has to appear inside something else — a slide, a web article, a chat message, a product listing, a support ticket — it needs to be an image. Converting is also the quickest way to show a page to someone who has no PDF reader, or to pull one figure out of a long report without sending the whole document.

Each page is rasterised independently at the resolution you pick. Because the page is redrawn from its vector instructions rather than resized from a fixed bitmap, the DPI setting genuinely changes how much detail survives: 72 DPI produces a lightweight thumbnail, 150 DPI reads comfortably on screen, and 300 DPI stays sharp when zoomed or printed. Text in the output is no longer selectable — it has become pixels — so keep the original PDF if you still need to search or copy from it.

A one-page PDF returns a single image. A longer document returns a ZIP archive with one numbered image per page, so the page order is preserved. Large documents at 300 DPI generate a lot of pixel data, so if a conversion times out, lowering the resolution is usually the fastest fix.

What happens when my PDF has several pages?

Every page is converted to its own image. A one-page PDF returns a single image file, and a multi-page PDF returns a ZIP archive containing one image per page, numbered in order.

Which image formats can a PDF be converted to?

JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF and TIFF are all available as output formats.

Which DPI is best for PDF to image conversion?

Choose 72 DPI for web previews and thumbnails, 150 DPI for general use, and 300 DPI when the image needs to stay sharp in print or when text must remain legible after zooming.

Is there a page limit?

There is no fixed page limit. The practical limit is the 20 MB upload size and the conversion timeout, so very large scanned documents at 300 DPI may need a lower resolution.

Are my uploaded PDFs kept?

No. Download and preview links expire 30 minutes after conversion, and both the uploaded PDF and the generated images are deleted from the server after 24 hours.
