1. What this privacy policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how FileMixr.com may collect, use, store and protect information when you visit the website, use an online file converter, submit the contact form, subscribe to updates or communicate with support.
FileMixr provides tools for image to PDF conversion, image format conversion, PDF to image conversion, PDF optimization and Word, Excel or PowerPoint conversion. This policy applies to the website, its public pages, conversion requests and related support communications.
2. Information you provide directly
When you contact FileMixr, we may receive the name you choose to provide, your email address, selected topic and message content. When you explicitly confirm that you want FileMixr updates and subscribe, we receive the email address needed to create and manage that subscription.
Please avoid placing passwords, payment details, government identification numbers, health information, confidential business information or other sensitive personal data in a support message unless it is necessary and appropriate for the request.
3. Uploaded files and conversion results
When you use a converter, FileMixr processes the source file required for the selected task. Depending on the workflow, this may include an image, PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT or PPTX file. The application also creates a converted file, such as a PDF, image or ZIP archive containing multiple generated images.
The application may record the storage path, file name, file size, conversion status and completion information needed to complete the request, provide a signed preview or download link, troubleshoot failures and protect the service. You should only upload files you are authorised to process and should review the current service configuration before uploading confidential material.
4. Request logs and technical information
To operate the conversion service and investigate errors or abuse, FileMixr may record technical request information such as IP address, request method, request URL, browser, platform, device, timestamps, progress and error details. This information helps us understand whether a request completed, improve reliability and maintain a safer public service.
Technical logs are not intended to replace the content of your file and should be limited to the operational information needed for the relevant request. Access to logs should be restricted to authorised people and service providers who need it for maintenance, security or support.
5. How information is used
FileMixr may use collected information to provide file conversion, generate preview and download links, respond to support requests, manage newsletter subscriptions, monitor service performance, prevent misuse, diagnose technical failures and communicate important changes to the service or its policies.
We do not use uploaded files to provide personalised advertising. Any additional use of personal information should be explained at the point of collection or in an updated version of this policy.
6. Storage, 24-hour retention and deletion
FileMixr stores the uploaded source file and the converted result on the configured application storage disk only for the time needed to process the request and make the result available. Uploaded files and converted files are scheduled for automatic deletion after 24 hours. The cleanup task runs regularly, so deletion may occur shortly after the 24-hour retention point rather than at an exact minute.
Request logs may continue to retain limited operational information such as file paths, file sizes, conversion status, timestamps and technical request metadata for reliability, security, troubleshooting or legal purposes. Those logs do not replace the file and do not provide permanent access to its contents. Do not treat a conversion link as archival storage; download important results and keep your own secure copy.
7. Cookies, sessions and analytics
FileMixr may use essential cookies or similar technologies for security, session handling, request protection and basic website functionality. These technologies help forms and signed requests work as intended.
Optional Google Analytics is off by default and is loaded only after you allow it through the Cookie preferences controls in the footer. Your choice is stored in this browser’s local storage so it can be applied on later visits, and can be changed at any time. FileMixr analytics events are limited to approved interaction data such as tool views, conversion states and download actions; they do not include uploaded files, filenames, document contents or signed result URLs. Browser settings may also provide controls for cookies, although disabling essential cookies can affect the service.
8. Sharing and service providers
FileMixr may rely on hosting, storage, email, security, monitoring or infrastructure providers to operate the website and conversion tools. These providers should receive only the information reasonably required for their service and should be subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law, needed to protect the rights and safety of FileMixr or others, or necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents or unlawful activity.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and the law that applies to you, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of or restriction on the processing of personal information. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or request a copy of information in a portable format.
To make a privacy request, use the Contact page and choose "Privacy request". We may ask for reasonable information to confirm your identity and locate the relevant record before responding.
10. Children and third-party links
FileMixr is not intended to invite children to provide personal information without appropriate permission. Parents or guardians who believe a child has submitted information should contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
The website may link to third-party services or resources. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own policies, and you should review those policies before sharing information with them.
11. Policy updates and contact
FileMixr may update this Privacy Policy when the conversion tools, storage arrangements, legal requirements or business operations change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the version currently published.
For privacy questions, data access requests or concerns about uploaded files and conversion records, use the Contact page and choose "Privacy request", or email support@filemixr.com.
